Is Your Auto Insurance Company Steering You? It’s Illegal!
When you are involved in an automobile accident one of the first people you come in contact with is your auto insurance company adjuster. You would assume this person has you, the policy owner, in their best interests. Unfortunately that usually isn’t the case.
The fact is most auto insurance insurance companies have so-called “preferred body shops” that they have contracts with to do volume work with cheaper parts and labor in exchange for referral business. It’s good for the body shop. It’s good for the insurance company. But it isn’t good for you or your car.
AUTO INSURANCE COMPANY STEERING IS ILLEGAL, BUT THE FACT IS IT GOES ON EVERYDAY. AND WITH A LOBBY AS POWERFUL AS THEY HAVE, DON’T EXPECT THAT TO CHANGE ANYTIME SOON.
Let’s face it, auto insurance companies are in the business of making money, not making sure you get you get the best repairs for you damaged automobile. But you don’t have to go to the body shop your insurance company recommends. You have the right to take your car to be repaired at whatever body shop you want.
ELITE PAINT & BODY SHOP WORKS FOR YOU, NOT THE INSURANCE COMPANY.
John Hauser, owner of Elite Paint & Body Shop in West Palm Beach Florida wants you to know that his priority is making you the customer happy. He cares about the quality of work his shop puts out because his reputation is at stake. And you don’t stay in business for over 30 years with a bad reputation!
At Elite Paint & Body Shop they don’t believe in doing “commercially acceptable auto body repair”, they want to put your vehicle back in pre-loss condition…because that’s what you are paying for.
YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO DECIDE WHERE YOUR CAR GETS FIXED AFTER AN ACCIDENT! IT’S THE LAW!
Common auto insurance company “steering” practices include:
- Saying they cannot guarantee the repairs if you go to a body shop not on their preferred list
- Telling you that you will have to pay the difference in labor rates if you go to a body shop not on their preferred list
- Informing you that your repairs could be delayed if you go to a body shop not on their preferred list
None of these statements are true!
